Child Devolepment

Eğirdir Vocational School of Health Services Child Development Program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. The program focuses on understanding the developmental needs of children, implementing age-appropriate educational strategies, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes healthy growth. Graduates of the program are prepared to work in a variety of settings, including early childhood education centers, special education institutions, and child welfare services. Through hands-on experience and theoretical learning, the program aims to cultivate professionals who can make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.

Childcare and Youth Services is a field of science that provides information on how to impart the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors for the healthy development of children aged 0-18. It aims to plan and implement support for all developmental areas of the child (psychomotor, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and self-care). Additionally, it offers up-to-date services to society, informed by scientific research, in areas such as child health and diseases, the development and integration of children with special needs, effective communication skills, and techniques for understanding children.

The aim of the Child Development Associate Degree Program is to train qualified child development professionals who possess basic theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the development, rights, and education of children aged 0-18. These professionals will be knowledgeable about principles related to child health, sensitive to the needs and interests of children with special development, and skilled in using contemporary educational methods. They will design educational toys, follow nutritional principles that support healthy child development, communicate effectively with children, and provide services to the community, families, and educators. They will also be committed to professional ethics and lifelong learning.

Graduates who successfully complete the Associate Degree Program earn the title of “Health Technician” under Article 43/b of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880. They can find employment opportunities in public and private preschools and special education institutions under the Ministry of National Education, in pediatric clinics of public and private hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, in public and private rehabilitation centers under the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services, in sectors related to children’s media and toys, and in children’s clubs of tourism facilities. Additionally, they can work in the professional care of the children of working parents.
